November 21, 2024 - Platform update

New maximum bitrate setting for composed archives. You can now set the maxBitrate option when using the REST API to start a composed archive. Set the maximum bitrate to control the size of the archive. See the API Reference for starting an archive.

November 5, 2024 - Platform update

New session monitoring events for server rotation. The session monitoring callback includes a new sessionNotification event sent in advance of Video API servers for a session being rotated. And the reason property of sessionDestroyed, connectionDestroyed, and streamDestroyed session monitoring events can now be set to "serverRotation". See the Session Monitoring developer guide. End-to-end encryption. End-to-end encryption encrypts media in routed sessions from client to client, remaining encrypted through the OpenTok Media Router. This supported in web apps on Chromium-based browsers. See End-to-end encryption.

HLS broadcast enhancement. For live-streaming broadcasts that include HLS streams, the response returned with REST API calls now includes an hlsStatus property that reports the status of the HLS stream (such as "connecting" or "live").
