Enabling Opt-Out Assist

Opt-Out Assist is generally available for 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers and for US/Canada Short codes. The feature currently needs to be manually enabled for both of these number types.

Account types

  • For managed accounts, please contact your Account Manager to request that Opt-Out Assist be enabled.
  • For non-managed accounts, please contact Vonage support to request that Opt-Out Assist be enabled.

Number types

  • For 10DLC numbers, Opt-Out Assist is enabled per primary_account_id of the 10DLC brand, and impacts all campaigns associated with that brand.
  • For short code numbers, Opt-Out Assist is enabled on a per short code basis.

Note: for Toll-free numbers (TFN) in the USA, STOP messages and opt-out functionality are managed automatically at a network level, enforced by the US operators. There is no need to enable this service, and it cannot be disabled. You can find further details in this support article
