Introducing USD Payment Support for Prepaid Customers
At Vonage, we’re committed to making our Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) more accessible and flexible for businesses worldwide. We’re rolling out multi-currency support in key markets, starting with USD.
Payment Methods for Prepaid USD
If you’re using USD for your prepaid account, you can easily top up your balance using PayPal or Braintree, with payments charged directly in USD. Please note that WeChat is not currently supported for USD transactions.
For New Sign-Ups
Choose Your CurrencySigning up is simple! When you create a new Vonage account, you’ll choose your preferred currency (EUR or USD) during the verification stage. This selection will be permanently tied to your main API key and all future subkeys.
If you ever need to switch currencies in the future, the standard process is to create a new account in the desired currency. However, in some cases, you can submit a support ticket to request a currency change on your existing account. These requests are reviewed individually, and approval is not guaranteed.
For Existing Customers
Existing EUR prepaid customers cannot directly switch their accounts to USD. Instead, you must create a new account and select USD during sign-up. However, customers who require a currency change but do not want to create a new account can contact support to request a switch. These requests are subject to review and approval and are not guaranteed. Alternatively, customers can fill out a Contact Us form to inquire about post-paid billing with a signed contract.
Conclusion
We’re excited to bring more flexibility to our customers with prepaid USD support, and this is just the beginning! As we continue expanding multi-currency options, we’re committed to making payments smoother and more convenient for businesses like yours.
