Julia Biro Rejoins the Developer Relations Team

Hi everyone! I’m Julia, and I’m excited to share that I’ve rejoined Vonage as a Developer Advocate focused on written content! 

Some of you may remember me from my previous Vonage stint, when I had the chance to explore just about every corner of Developer Relations. I started out on the community team, focusing on hackathons and conference outreach, then moved into low-code tooling for Node-RED and Zapier, worked closely with grassroots communities across APAC, experimented (chaotically) with early-pandemic livestreaming, became a Voice API specialist, and eventually settled into the Developer Education team to focus on the written resources that help developers succeed.

Returning now feels a bit like coming home, but to a home that’s had a thoughtful renovation.

What excites me most about being back is the focus Vonage has placed on empowering developer communities, improving the end-to-end developer experience, and meaningfully supporting the people building real applications with our APIs. I’m looking forward to being part of a team that genuinely wants to make developers’ lives easier. And of course, I’m delighted to be reunited with some familiar faces, as well as getting to work alongside the incredible teammates who joined during my time away.

In this new chapter, my main focus will be on written content that I believe to be the most powerful, accessible way to enable developers at scale. You can expect tutorials, guides, deep dives, and plenty of hands-on explorations. I’ll also be experimenting with new webinar formats, aiming to give our community real-time access to educational content and domain experts.

I’ll be taking a particular interest in the Vonage Video API, aiming to become your go-to person for all things video. My background is strongest in JavaScript and Node.js, so that’s where I’ll start—but I’m always happy to pick up new languages and frameworks in the process of choosing the right tool for the job at hand.

After my time away, I’m returning with a broader strategic perspective and a deep appreciation for building impactful programs. I’m excited to get back into a hands-on role where I get to create valuable resources for developers again.
