Vonage is proud to announce a new major update to our Vonage Video Reference Application for React! Version 1.2 introduces a new accessibility feature–Live Captions–along with numerous stability fixes and community-contributed improvements.
New Feature: Video Live Captions
Video Live Captions are now available in our Video Reference Application! This new feature automatically generates real-time subtitles during your video calls, making conversations more accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Simply start your video call and click the captions button in the call controls. Captions will appear on your screen as each participant speaks, including your own contributions.

Video Reference App DemoVideo Live Captions work for all participants, whether participants join from desktop or mobile, ensuring clarity for everyone.
Developers can also specify the translation language in the backend, thanks to our newly expanded documentation.

Minor Improvements and Fixes
