Playground now includes support for Preferred Framerate and Preferred Resolution for Publisher.

Updates for Media Connection

  • In some cases, audio and video round-trip time (RTT) values may increase continuously to unrealistic levels during a session. This has been observed in specific sequences of publishing and subscribing activity and is currently under investigation.

Updates for Precall Tool

  • Improved error handling when access to the camera and microphone is not granted.
  • Test results are now preserved and displayed even if the test is stopped early or camera or microphone access is revoked during the test.
  • Device information now updates correctly if camera or microphone access changes during a test.

Updates for Media Connection

Video Forward Error Correction (FEC) has been enabled between our Media Router and all the other services, such as Media Archiver and Media Broadcast, to enhance media stream reliability, especially in the case of inter-service network variability. Additionally, FEC is now available for all the subscribe streams, including from our Media Router to subscribing endpoints.

Resolved an issue with Single Peer Connection, where bandwidth was being allocated to muted streams.

Updates for Vonage Video Connector Server SDK (version 1.0.1).

Improvements:

  • Enabled traceability of Video Connector sessions in Video Inspector & Advanced Insights.
  • Corrected log levels to reduce verbosity.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where the application could become unresponsive during shutdown when a large number of streams were simultaneously being unpublished, unsubscribed, and disconnected within the same session.

Platform Updates

Updates to Media Connection

  • The platform now supports Media Mesh, reducing latency and improving audio and video quality for geographically distributed sessions. With Media Mesh, each participant automatically connects to the media router in their nearest regional datacenter, optimizing media routing based on actual participant locations. Media traffic between participants in different regions is routed through internal high-speed connections to minimize latency. This feature is automatically enabled for all routed sessions (sessions not created with relayed media mode).
