Custom Fraud Alerts

Fraud Defender Custom Fraud Alerts is a Premium package protection. You can reach an expert to know more and request an upgrade.

Fraud Defender Custom Fraud Alerts allows you to define custom voice and sms traffic limits per destination, once your defined limit is reached a fraud alert will be raised.

Our solution is able to evaluate for every SMS or Call if the limit has been reached, and generate a fraud alert. As an example, if you set a limit of 1000 SMS / 1 day, we will evaluate if the limit has been met for every SMS considering the previous 24 hours of activity.

Set up

  1. Click on the "Add new Custom Fraud Alert" button

Add new Custom Fraud Alert button
  2. Select if you want to create a limit for Voice or SMS and click the "Add" button

    Product selection
  3. Select the "threshold", "time interval" and the countries you want to apply the limit.

    1. Minimum threshold: Defines at which traffic amount you want to trigger the alert.
    2. Time interval: Defines for which time interval the threshold applies. In the screenshot below, the Custom Fraud Alert would trigger as soon as 5000 sms are sent in 1 day.
    3. Country: Select to which countries the traffic limit applies for. If you choose multiple countries, the defined limit will be evaluated individually for every country.
Example: In the screenshot below a custom fraud alert will be raised for Angola or Nigeria or Republic of Congo as soon as any of the countries receives 5000 SMS in 1 day (rolling).
Add new Custom Fraud Alert modal
  4. Set up an alert action to trigger once a Custom Fraud Alert limit is reached.

    Alert action setup

Important: For now you can set up a single alert action for Custom Fraud Alerts. The action will trigger as soon as any of the limits you set up is reached.

Select the "Notify me" option to receive an email every time one of the limits you have defined is reached. If you select the "block" action a traffic rule to block the prefix that triggered the alert will automatically be created. As an example:

In screenshot below we can see that Spain (+34) caused a custom fraud alert

If a block action triggers for such alert a block prefix rule will be created for prefix +34:
