Vonage API Developer Portal Learning Center Enters Beta

Time to read: 3 minutes

Introduction

We're excited to announce that the Vonage API Developer Portal Learning Center is officially in Beta! After months of design, development, and internal testing, we're opening it to the broader developer community.

You can check it out right now at developer.vonage.com/learning-center.

What Is the Learning Center?

The Vonage API Developer Portal contains extensive documentation for many products and use cases. Knowing where to begin or which resources to follow can sometimes be challenging. We built the Learning Center to address these challenges.

The Learning Center is a dedicated section of the Developer Portal designed to deliver curated, hands-on learning experiences that guide both business decision-makers and developers through the full journey of building with Vonage APIs. It's organized around three core content types:

Use Cases

Scenario-driven, practical examples that bridge business value with technical implementation. Use cases cover both universal/horizontal business scenarios and vertical/industry-specific scenarios, showing you how Vonage API products can be leveraged to build complete application solutions. Each use case also includes high-level implementation steps and links to the Learning Paths that support them.

Learning Paths

A structured collection of courses that guide you through the exact documentation you need to build a specific solution. Learning Paths pull together the conceptual overviews, how-to guides, and code examples relevant to your goal, and include interactive coding exercises so you can build as you learn. When you complete all courses in a Learning Path, and you're signed into your Vonage developer account, you'll earn a certificate you can download as a PDF or share directly to your LinkedIn profile.

Support Paths

Similar in structure to Learning Paths, Support Paths are designed to help you navigate specific support scenarios—such as migrating to the Vonage Video API from Twilio—using the same guided, step-by-step approach.

What's Available in Beta?

The Beta release includes foundational and advanced content across several of our most popular API products:

  • Video API — Foundational and advanced use cases and learning paths developed during Alpha and Beta Gate 1.

  • Voice API — Foundational use cases with learning paths to follow shortly.

  • Verify API — Foundational use cases and learning paths related to Silent Authentication.

  • Messages API — Content in active development, with a focus on RCS and SMS channels.

We'll continue expanding the content library throughout the Beta period and beyond, so expect new use cases and learning paths to appear regularly!

How We Got Here

The Learning Center has been in development since mid-2025, progressing through a POC phase (Q3 2025), an Alpha phase (Q4 2025), and Beta Gate 1 (Q1 2026) before arriving at today's public Beta. Along the way, a cross-functional team spanning API Documentation, Developer Relations, UX Design, Product, Product Marketing, Sales, Support, and Engineering collaborated closely to design, build, and refine the experience based on real feedback from internal testers.

We received a tremendous amount of feedback during Alpha on both the content and the user interface, and we've been iterating on it ever since. The Beta release reflects those improvements, and we're not done yet.

We Want Your Feedback

This is a Beta, which means your input directly shapes what comes next. We're actively collecting feedback on:

  • Content quality — Is the flow logical? Is the content accurate and complete?

  • User experience — Is the interface intuitive? Are there friction points in the learning journey?

  • Real-world applicability — Does the Learning Center actually help you build faster?

If you explore the Learning Center and have thoughts to share, we'd love to hear from you. Look for the feedback options available directly within the portal.

What's Next

We're targeting General Availability (GA) in Q4 2026, with continued content development and platform improvements planned throughout the Beta period. Between now and GA, you can expect:

  • More advanced use cases and learning paths for Voice, Verify, and Messages APIs

  • Expanded coverage of Identity Insights products

  • Ongoing UX refinements based on Beta feedback

Conclusion

Head over to the Vonage API Developer Portal Learning Center and start exploring. Whether you're new to Vonage APIs or a seasoned developer looking to level up on a specific product, there's something in there for you.

We're genuinely excited about what the Learning Center means for the developer experience on the Vonage platform, and we can't wait to see what you build with it.

Happy learning! 🚀
