Meet the Latest Healthcare AI Startups Joining Vonage
Time to read: 3 minutes
Introduction
At Vonage, we believe the most meaningful technology is built to solve the hardest problems in the most critical places. Healthcare sits at the top of that list: every missed call, unanswered message, or lost referral has real consequences for real people.
This month, we are proud to welcome three trailblazing startups to the Vonage Startup Program that are using artificial intelligence (AI) and Vonage’s communication application programming interfaces (APIs) to transform how patients access, experience, and receive care.
MedFeed AI (Somani Technologies)
Built from inside working hospitals in India, MedFeed AI is developing an AI-native operating infrastructure for large super specialty facilities. Their flagship product is the first voice-native Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREM), Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROM), Joint Commission International (JCI), and National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) compliance automation platform.
At its heart is an AI Patient Contact Center: a multilingual assistant that reaches patients by phone and WhatsApp in their own language, including Hindi, Punjabi, English, and more, with no app or portal required. MedFeed AI powers this system on Vonage Voice API for inbound and outbound calls, the Messages API for WhatsApp and SMS, and the Verify API for patient identity and one-time password (OTP) verification. Backed by a patent-pending federated multilingual agentic architecture, MedFeed AI is already live across two NABH-accredited hospitals with a 40–50% Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) improvement at both sites and 90+ CSAT/Net Promoter Score (NPS) scores. Their work proves that AI can meet patients exactly where they are, in their language and on a channel they already use, in some of the world’s most linguistically diverse and resource-constrained healthcare environments.
SurgePoint
Founded to give small business owners their time back, SurgePoint has built an AI Front Desk designed specifically for aesthetics practices. Their platform answers patient calls around the clock, handles booking inquiries, manages two-way SMS, and runs automated campaigns that drive rebooking and referrals, eliminating the administrative burden that keeps most practice owners away from patient care. SurgePoint leverages Vonage Voice API for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant inbound call routing and two-way SMS for patient communication.
Having launched in June 2026, SurgePoint is already onboarding real clinics and iterating on real customer feedback. The Vonage Startup Program provided the reliable, compliance-ready infrastructure they needed to scale without enterprise pricing or complexity.
Switchboard, MD
Switchboard, MD was founded by Dr. Blake Anderson, an internal medicine physician at Emory Healthcare, who experienced firsthand the toll that administrative communication overload takes on clinicians. The platform helps specialty healthcare organizations, including Georgia Vision Institute, Medici Orthopedics & Spine, Georgia Eye Partners, and Midwest Eye Center, unify referrals from faxes, voicemails, emails, patient portal messages, and online forms into one intelligent workflow. It then automates patient outreach through AI voice and SMS to convert more of those referrals into completed appointments.
Built on Vonage Voice API and Messages API, Switchboard, MD turns every phone call into structured referral and workflow data that can be routed, tracked, and acted on at scale. The partnership’s momentum is evident: within just 60 days of joining the Vonage Startup Program, Switchboard, MD signed and deployed their first joint customer.
