Introduction

Today, we're thrilled to announce that the Identity Insights API is now General Available (GA). This marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide real-time, production-grade phone number intelligence for identity verification, fraud prevention, and customer data enrichment.

Since launching in beta, we've listened closely to your feedback, refined the API, and built enterprise-grade support that ensures you can confidently use Identity Insights in your most critical workflows.

Beta Period

During the beta period, beta developers integrated Identity Insights to extract intelligence such as:

  • Number Format: validation of a phone number's format and retrieval of information derived from it.

  • SIM Swap status: detect potential phone number takeover based on a recent SIM pairing change.

  • Current Carrier: information about the network the number is currently assigned.

  • Original Carrier: the network information was initially assigned to this carrier.

What Has Changed Since Beta

  1. Improved API response latency and optimized our backend paths to reduce time per request.

  2. Enhanced documentation, added tutorials, and released Node SDK code in our officially supported languages.

  3. Hardened error handling: clearer errors and better edge-case coverage.

Use Cases That Benefit Most

With Identity Insights now GA, you can more robustly build:

  • Fraud detection systems: catch high-risk numbers with Number format, Current Carrier, and SIM Swap signals.

  • Customer onboarding flows: validate and enrich user phone numbers in real time.

  • Risk scoring: combine insights with other identity signals (e.g., device data, behavioral signals) to create more innovative trust models.

  • Marketing personalization: use global number formatting to tailor communications by region or operator.

What’s Next on the Roadmap

We’re not stopping here. In the coming months, we plan to add:

  • Subscriber Match: Compare end-user data for a phone number with that on file with a network operator.

  • Advisor: Analyzes and returns advice and assessments based on the Insights available.

We’re excited to build these with you. As always, your feedback from the beta will guide our roadmap.
