Announcing V2.31.0 of the Vonage Video API

We’re excited to announce the release of Vonage Video API v2.31.0! This update introduces new features and enhancements to the Vonage Video Client SDKs, enhancing bandwidthmanagement, sessionmoderation, and telephony integration to help you build reliable, high-quality video conferencing applications more quickly.
With the new bandwidth control feature, you can now set a maximumbitrate for publishers. This allows for fine-tuning of video quality to better match application needs and varying network conditions. Custom bitrate support provides a smoother experience for users with limited bandwidth or metered connections. You can now use this feature on all supported platforms.
Moderators now have the ability to forcefully disconnect participants from a session. This enhancement gives moderators greater control over session management, helping to maintain a safe and productive environment for all users. The forcedisconnect feature is now available across all our supported platforms.
This version introduces new publisher settings that allow control over audio capture while muted. With this feature, publishers can continue to receive audio level updates even when they are muted. For example, an application can detect when a muted user is speaking and display a “You’re muted, unmute to speak”. This feature is available on Android, iOS, and Windows.
This release adds support for integrating Android ConnectionService without the need to implement a custom audio driver. This enhancement simplifies SDK integration for apps with telephony capabilities. Check out the Connection Service Example project in our community repository.
This release introduces new additions that simplify integrating iOS CallKit with the Vonage Video SDK. Previously, customers needed to build a custom audio device for telephony features. Now, the SDK provides default audio device support, making CallKit integration much easier and faster. Here is an example of how to integrate it.
