Fraud Detection Overview
The Fraud detection SIM Swap API is an API that allows you to evaluate a phone number's fraud risk. This allows you to filter out fraudulent phone numbers that would otherwise be used within your application.
NB: For detailed information about a phone number, please refer to the Carrier Information APIs. The carrier information APIs provide details such as number origin, validity, reachability, etc.
Concepts
To assess the risk associated with a phone number, we consider the SIM swap status. This is the situation where a wireless carrier issues a new SIM to an existing account. This is useful in determining if an account has been hijacked. See the guide on SIM Swap Detection to learn more.
